FAQ

Common questions about install, sync and accounts

Which operating systems are supported?

Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and macOS 12 or later (both Apple Silicon and Intel).

The browser warns “this file isn’t commonly downloaded” and blocks it — what now?

This is a routine warning for files that have not been downloaded much yet — it is not a virus report. Open the downloads list in Chrome or Edge and choose “Keep” / “Keep anyway”. If a security suite blocks it, allow it once and download again.

Windows shows “Unknown publisher” / “Windows protected your PC” — how do I continue?

That is SmartScreen’s default block for new programs that have not yet built up download reputation. Click “More info” → “Run anyway” to continue. It does not affect the app once installed, and the prompt fades as more people download it.

Will I lose my data when switching computers?

No. Sign in with the same account on the new computer and your data syncs back; not signing in simply keeps everything local.

Is my data safe?

Data is encrypted on both the client and the server, and sign-in and sync always run over HTTPS.

How do I update to a new version?

The app checks for updates automatically and prompts you; you can also download the latest build from this site and install over the old one — your data is kept.

Will uninstalling delete my data?

Not by default: the “delete user data” option is unchecked, so uninstalling only removes the app and keeps your local data. If you tick it, your local user data is deleted, but your cloud data is unaffected. To permanently delete your cloud data, choose to delete your account.
